Physical Therapy

Traditional physical therapy always begins with a comprehensive examination and review of medical history. Treatment then employs the use of several skilled approaches including manual therapy, therapeutic exercise, neuromuscular re-education (nervous system treatment), and modalities for pain, all based on the patient’s individual needs. It is a truly conservative form of treatment for pain and impairment that is safe, effective, and affordable.

At TruMotion, our treatment philosophy is focused on the needs of the individual patient and addresses the root cause of the often painful condition. Manual therapy is emphasized in this approach and is reinforced by carefully selected exercises and stretches to help restore normal function in the most efficient way possible.

Manual Therapy

Often times, issues with joint and soft tissue mobility are a primary culprit in painful orthopedic conditions. Manual therapy is designed to restore normal mobility to these tissues, reduce pain levels, inhibit overactive muscles, and reduce inflammation.

Manual therapy techniques include soft tissue mobilization, joint mobilization, joint manipulation (grade V mobilization), instrument assisted soft tissue mobilization (IASTM), and stretching.

Concussion Therapy

Research and understanding of concussions and concussion treatment have been exploding in the past 10 years, and rightfully so. Between 1.6 and 3.8 million sports and recreational concussions occur each year and nearly 1 in 10 contact sports athletes sustain a concussion.

Concussions are not only prevalent in athletes. Car accidents, falls, and work-related injuries can also result in a concussion and cause significant impairments and suffering.

Fortunately, effective treatment options are available. ImPACT Trained Physical Therapists are specialty trained in concussion management and are ideal practitioners to treat associated symptoms.

Gastron Technique

Graston Technique is a form of Instrument Assisted Soft Tissue Mobilization (IASTM) using stainless steel instruments to help treat soft tissue lesions, fascial restrictions, and scar tissue. It is not designed only for athletes but it is so effective that 2/3 of NFL, NBA, and MLB teams use Graston Technique.

Functional Nutrition for Chronic Pain

We are in an epidemic of chronic pain and disease. Since being studied in 1994, the number of Americans experiencing chronic pain has risen from 1 in 7 to 1 in 3.5 and is now affecting over 100 million of us. We are taking more pharmaceuticals (including opiates) and are having more surgeries yet studies show that our pain is only getting worse.

One of the major changes we have undergone in the last 25 years is what we do to the food we eat. There is more processing, modification, and additive changes made to our food than ever before. Many of these changes can negatively alter the health of our gut and microbiome, which ultimately affects our immune system.

Evidence continues to mount showing that the root cause for many painful conditions may be related to gut health, our immune system, and systemic inflammation. A Functional Nutrition practitioner understands how to identify and treat your specific dietary and nutritional needs to help improve your pain.

Vestibular and Balance Rehabilitation

Balance treatment begins with standardized clinical assessments used to identify your fall risk and specific areas that need to be worked on. Once the plan has been established, treatment can begin on addressing your particular areas of impairment in a safe and controlled environment.

Fairly common vertigo conditions, like BPPV (Benign Paroxysmal Positional Vertigo) can be diagnosed and treated at TruMotion. Other vestibular conditions can be treated that cause difficulties with eye and head movements, lightheadedness, and dizziness.

Golf Performance

Titleist Performance Institute (TPI) was founded in 2003 with a new approach to training golfers.

Today, more than 100,000 golfers have been studied and the data has produced a training program that has changed the game of golf.

18 of the last 20 major winners and 24 of the top 30 players worldwide are advised by a TPI certified professional.

Custom Orthotics

Foot posture and function has been shown to be affect conditions of the lower extremity and lumbar spine. Orthotics are designed to improve or eliminate these issues and help you maintain a pain-free lifestyle. Custom fitted Vasyli orthotics are heat molded in-house to address your specific orthotic needs.

Blood Flow Restriction

Blood Flow Restriction or BFR training is an exercise approach using calibrated bands to allow patients to make strength gains while lifting lighter loads. The bands reduce venous outflow (blood leaving the muscle) while still maintaining arterial inflow (blood coming in). The value in this exercise training is two-fold; there can be considerably less stress on joints as the exercise intensity is reduced and strength gains can continue while lifting less weight. Ideal candidates for this type of exercise include post operative patients, deconditioned individuals, athletes, and patients with arthritis.

Neubie

The Neubie, which stands for Neuro-Bio-Electrical Stimulator, is a patented electrical stimulation device that uses Direct Current (DC) instead of Alternating Current (AC) used in other forms of electrical stimulation and TENS units. DC has a powerful and unique effect on healing, repairing, and regenerating the neuromuscular tissues in our body. The Neubie has been shown to improve healing times by 30-70%.

Rock Steady Boxing

RockSteady Boxing addresses the motor symptoms typically seen in individuals with Parkinsons by providing rigorous exercise that promotes gross motor movements, balance, rhythm, sequencing, core strength, gait, and rigidity. Rock Steady Boxing has also been shown to improve non-motor symptoms commonly seen with this neurological disease as it creates a positive community, encourages safe exercise, and is a great time!

Rock Steady Boxing was designed for individuals with PD and is scientifically proven to help reduce, delay and even reverse several of its symptoms.

Dry Needling

Dry Needling is commonly used to treat myofascial trigger points, or ‘knots’ in muscle tissue that is usually associated with an injury or overuse condition. Inserting a needle into the trigger point can help release the muscle by relaxing the local nerves, improve blood flow, and help normalize function of the dysfunctional muscle. This can also reduce pain levels in ways that traditional treatments are not able to.

State-Of-The-Art Facility and Equipment

At TruMotion, you can be confident that the team, the equipment, and the technology is professional, advanced and innovative. We’ve invested in cutting-edge technologies, groundbreaking research and powerful treatments to understand the best way to diagnose and address an individual’s health and wellness needs. Neubie is just one example of the impact new devices can make on a patient’s whole-body health.
